Day 4 in Boquete, Panama

9:45 am-

We went down stairs to the cafe in our hotel. We all got a granola bar and we got lattes. The lattes were so creamy and delicious. I live the all natural sugar they added, definitely a favorite.

10:30 am-

We drove out to the Pipeline Trail, it was about a 20 minute drive. Very scenic on the way up. About half way up we say a beautiful waterfall so we stopped and let the kids explore. They were amazed.

11:00 am-

We arrived at the trail and started are hike. It was all uphill on the way up. The kids got tired a few times but we would encourage them to search for things, like butterflies or water. Our most valuable thing we have purchased for the trip was the GRAYL Ultralight Water Purifier [+ FILTER] BOTTLE. We bought two on Amazon, they aren't cheap but they are amazing for us. We would stop at each water stream and fill up our bottles. They are safe and it was a big help with getting the kids to keep going. They made it a game, who could find the water first.

3:00 pm-

We finally reached the top, the waterfall was well worth the hike. We were surrounded by rock walls and this huge waterfall just pouring down. The kids wanted to go all the way to the water fall to touch it. So we did, it was freezing. We took a break for about 30 minutes to give the kids a break, but instead they played all over the rocks and water. They loved it.

3:30 pm-

We started heading down. It was a bit challenging for the kids at some points. We would let them find the best way to get down and help if they needed. We wanted them to have the full experience. They have a few battle marks and a few tears but they were so happy they completed the entire 6 km trail.

We spotted some weird beetles, caterpillars, and birds. We stopped at the tree they call the "Grandfather Tree" , it's approximately 1000 years old.

5:00 pm-

We stopped for some strawberry shakes as a reward for the kids doing so well. Chloe loved it but the other two didn't care for it as much. They preferred the merngue puffs.

7:00 pm-

We went to a local grocery store, Romano. We grabbed some nuts, fruit and granola bars for our bags.

7:45 pm-

We went to eat dinner at this Argentinian restaurant. The kids got lucky with pizza and I had the Nachoes Rancheros con Pollo (chicken nachoes). They were delicious but the plate was piled high, it would have been enough for 2 people. Ben got the chicken skewers and said they were great.

Today ending up being very rewarding. The kids had a blast. I ask the kids every night what was your favorite and worse thing about the day and Brandt didn't have a worse. I guess that's a plus.

Tomorrow we are doing a coffee tour and maybe hiking. I will post again tomorrow.
