Day 21 in Granada, Nicaragua

8:30 am-

We started our day with granola bars and fruit. After packing up and checking out of our hotel, we were on our way.

12:00 pm-

On our drive to Granada we passed through Managua (Nicaragua's capital). There was traffic everywhere and we decided to stop at Walmart and buy some groceries. The place we booked in Granada had a kitchen and Ben was dying to cook some food. Walmart was definitely different from what I am use to, they had a security guard at the parking garage entrance and multiple guards through out the store. We were able to stock up on 2 days worth of meals. When we got back to the car, we had sandwiches on our road trip.

3:30 pm-

We arrived in Granada at our Airbnb, the house was much bigger than expected. The two bedrooms are closed off with a/c but the rest of the house is open to the outside. The best part is the pool in the house.

4:00 pm-

We passed a laundry service on our way in and decided to drop our clothes off. Not having washing machines is hard. We have to hand wash every other day to have our clothes dry in enough time to wear. So far none of the houses or hotels we have stayed at has had a washer and definitely not a dryer.

4:30 pm-

We came back and the kids were dying to go for a swim. The water was cold but we got in anyways. The kids had fun and Cali was brave enough to jump in the deep end.

7:00 pm-

We started cooking dinner and Ben was excited to have some "good food". He made chicken fajitas, and they were delicious. The kids all asked for seconds. The kids were ready to watch tv for a little while so we let them watch Netflix on the tv provided by the host. They were very excited to watch cartoons since they haven't had cartoons in 21 days. They also made new friends with the two cats at our home, Batman and Robin. Ben had to rescue one of the cats that got on the roof, the owner said they weren't suppose to go outside and we didn't know if we let him out by accident. After Ben got her down we realized that this has happened before, but the kids liked seeing Dad climb the ladder and rescue the cat anyways.

10:30 pm-

The kids all were exhausted and so we put them to bed. We stayed up and watched some National Geographic on Africa.

Tomorrow we will walk around the city and let the kids play in the pool. After that we plan on heading to a beach town. Not many days left and we want to visit the beach a few more times before we return home.
