Day 10 in Cahuita, Costa Rica

8:00 am-

We got up and all had a yogurt drink for breakfast, something a filling for our hike. They kids weren't too excited to go hiking.

10:00 am-

We walked through town to the park entrance. It does not cost they just ask for donations (they recommend $5 per person).  We started the trail and we went really slow at first. The kids spotted a lot of bugs at first. We brought a bag of skittles and would give the person who would find a animal one skittle. It was a motivational thing for them. We didn't see many animals at first. We got to this spot in the trail that had us walking on a beach for a couple of minutes. The kids had fun looking for shells. We went back in the trail and spotted an eyelash viper (not something I wanted to see). The kids were really motivated to find new animals now. We saw monkeys, a raccoon, 3 snakes, giant crickets, leaf cutter ants, hermit crabs, blue and red crabs, snail eggs, centipede, spiders, and so much more. The kids got really tired at the last 3 kilometers, so we gave them skittles for walking. We finally reached the end!!!

2:30 pm-

We walked to a bus station to get a ride back to Cahuita. We missed it by 5 minutes and they run every half hour. Needless to say we set there a while with the kids.

3:00 pm-

We rode the bus back into town and stopped at a little grocery store. We were all starving and got somethings for grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. We walked back home, all of our feet were tired. We did a lot of walking with the kids and I'm glad they were able to keep up.

Tomorrow will be a travel day, headed to La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Visiting Arenal Volcano State Park. Bus ride to our rental car in Limon and then driving from there.
